Recipes: Honey Oat Bars

images-5This is a delicious slice that is milk free, egg free and can be gluten free simply by adding gluten free flour and quinoa flakes instead of rolled oats.

One of my husbands favourites from the family recipe book!!!

What you need:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 1/2 cup SR flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 155g butter
  • 1 tbsp honey

What you do:

  1. Combine oats, sultanas. flour, sugar and coconut.
  2. Melt butter, add honey and mix into dry ingredients.
  3. Press evenly into a greased lamington tin.
  4. Bake in moderate oven 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Tip: If you want to get creative you could add any type of dried fruit that you have in your pantry, could be a combination or just something different on its own.
